After eight years of providing a free, on line, comprehensive data base of tax returns from non-profit organizations we have decided to end the project. Our mission has been to provide free access to information that assists grant seekers in locating funding for their projects. By providing this information for free we encouraged others to do the same. We are pleased that others in the non profit and government agency sectors are now offering much the same information on the same terms. Our work is done and it’s time to do the next big thing.
Our entire data base of eight years of 990PF tax returns is archived in a MYSQL database and is available to anyone who will continue this project.
NozaSearch.com has stepped forward to continue support of the database. We have supplied their able technical team with the data and support software. We are hopeful that the data will soon be available on their website at www.nozasearch.com early in 2008.
We also have plenty of hardware including two Apple Xserves with dual G4 processors, plenty of memory, mirrored system drives and SCSI boards. We also have one Apple Xserve with dual G5 processors and a fibre channel board. All of the servers have the latest version of Mac OS X server (10 client).
For storage we have two Nexsan ATAboy RAID arrays (14 ata drives) with dual power supplies and dual SCSI connections with 4 to 6 TB each. We also have a single Nexsan SATAboy RAID array (14 drives) with 9 TB and a fibre channel connection.
If you have a great project underway that can use some or all of this hardware please drop us an email detailing your project, why it’s important and how you can use this hardware.
After a careful review of the many applications we received for the hardware donation we have decided to donate a G4 Xserve and the two NexSan ATAboy RAID arrays (totaling 9 Terabytes) to the SETI project at the University of California at Berkeley. This successful project has been run on some very old hardware and was out of capacity. Even though our donated hardware is a generation from the state of the art, it will make a huge difference in the project.
We are still evaluating other applications of the remainder of the hardware.
Only non-profits and accredited educational institutions need apply. Student projects are cool but you need specific sponsorship from your school. We will reply ONLY to those we find interesting, important and well considered. Any remaining hardware and our domain name will be auctioned on eBay in January 2008.
Please send correspondence to info@nozasearch.com .
Adios,
The Grantsmart Team
